The pickpockets have many ways to steal your belongings. The easiest way is taking your wallet, cellphone, or anything else directly from the bag you do not put under your view, such as on your back or under your armpit. In that situation, they can easily unzip your bag, search, and take anything you have. You wouldn’t realize it until finding your zipper was open.
If they think that way takes time, they do not hesitate to cut your bag with a razor blade silently so they can grope around and get what they want.
For safety and comfort, I have some tips for you:
- Carry your bag on your chest. It is not only for your convenience but also to make sure your (big) backpack does not disturb others in crowd, such as on a bus.
- Lock your zipper by a small padlock. A padlock gives extra security to your bag by locking your zipper.
- Use a bag with durable material that can not be cut or sliced easily.
